I was born and raised in Davenport. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and DVM from Iowa State University. Although I have always loved animals growing up I was inspired to become a veterinarian following the diagnosis of severe hip dysplasia of one of my childhood dogs, Hershey.
If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be, and why?
I would love to have a lemur (Ring-Tailed or Coquerel’s Sifaka). They are fascinating and adorable little creatures. I have always been interested in other primate species, but fell in love with lemurs after watching Zoboomafoo
Do you currently have any pets? What type and what are their names?
I have two dogs. A Brittany named Ginger, and a Hound mix named Hazel.
What is your favorite thing about working with animals?
I love working with healthy puppies and kittens, helping animals through their illness, and the interactions I have with grateful owners.
